Good Games Commenting: Competitive Smash

Good Games Commenting is our regular look at a comment that sticks out for its sheer ability to not drag you down into the mire that is comments sections. Yes, we read the comments so you don’t have to.

Imad Khan’s Washington Post piece on who Nintendo is trying to court with Smash Bros. Ultimate is worthy of reading, but one comment stood out to us.

User rooster7447 argues that competitive players should use only professional gear, like race car drivers on a track. While this already somewhat happens both in other games (premium fight sticks) and, to a degree in Smash, with GameCube controllers, such a clear distinction between “pro” and “casual” might be the way to answer the questions Khan raises in her article.
